PERFECTED FOR RIDESHARE

Based on a standard Niro hybrid and electric SUV, the new variant has been stretched 80mm and raised 10mm for improved cabin space.

Photos reveal passenger grab handles, extra storage, door reflectors, and modified seats are part of the new package.

The inside is packed with an 8 way power driver’s seat with lumbar support, Dual Zone Climate control with 2nd row vents, wireless Apple CarPlay, as well as Android Auto, making it convenient for drivers and comfortable for passengers.

BORN TO PERFORM

With a 1.6-litre petrol engine, an electric motor, and a battery pack, the new Kia comes with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. As for fuel consumption, it prides itself with a combined consumption of 4.3 litres per 100 km.

You can get a whopping 978 km on one tank according to the manufacturer, meaning you’ll only need to fill up the tank 3 times a month.

Safety

The Kia Niro Plus is covered by a five-star ANCAP safety rating, based on testing conducted in 2016. This rating applies to the hybrid variant only.

It has a 91 per cent score for adult occupant protection, 80 per cent for children, 70 per cent for vulnerable road users, and 81 per cent for safety assist.

Seven airbags (dual front, side, curtain, and driver’s knee) feature across the range.

Each variant includes the following active safety equipment as standard:

  • Autonomous emergency braking (vehicle, pedestrian, cyclist)

  • Blind spot alert
  • Driver attention alert
  • Adaptive cruise control
